about the course
All teachers are committed to enhancing the future for their pupils but sometimes due the behaviour of children and young people in the classroom it can feel like an uphill struggle. We can help!
Can we help your school and your staff team by empowering them to ensure a brighter happier future for pupils? We are offering a 1day training course for up to 50 staff members, larger group sizes can be negotiated as appropriate.
Many school teachers have benefitted from workable techniques for handling children’s behaviour within the classroom. We hope to prevent the unnecessary exclusions of children/young people due to a lack of understanding, knowledge and skills. It is essential to understand that early childhood development and experiences at school can have a profound impact on an individual in later adult life.
course aims & objectives
This course aims to:
- Practical day-to-day effective methods of handling and controlling behaviour.
- An understanding of why children/young people behave the way they do.
- An understanding of how stages of development can impact on behaviour.
- Skills and knowledge to handle behaviour in the classroom more competently.
- Time to consider the school ethos and policy around handling behaviour to ensure that all staff use a consistent approach.
- Confidence in knowing that this approach to managing behaviour has the child/young person’s needs at the heart of all of our responses.
- An understanding that changing behaviour is the adults’ responsibility.
- An understanding of the different types of behaviour and recognise that many things are not done deliberately just to annoy the adult.
