playing your part in a risk assessment
This two-day course is suitable for childcare professionals working with children in need, including those who are at risk of significant harm.
We are often asked to participate in work that contributes towards an assessment of the needs of a child and their family; often there are concerns about the safety of the children. This two-day course introduces practitioners to crucial information and helpful practice guidance that will arm them with the skills and confidence to undertake their part in the process.
Based on the Framework of Assessment of Children In Need and knowledge and experience of assessment of children at risk of significant harm, the course has been developed to help practitioners develop their ability to work in this arena in a manner that aims to keep children safe in a way that avoids unnecessary stigmatisation.
Our aim is to engage course delegates in informative and interactive experiences that will help them to understand and play their part in ensuring that the right conclusions are drawn about the families with whom they work.
The course is aimed at childcare practitioners who are involved in work with children in need, including those who are at risk of harm and maltreatment. This includes Health Care Workers, Social Workers, Educationalists, Foster Carers and Residential Workers and Police Officers.
