introduction to child sexual abuse
This one-day course aims to provide foster carers and other front line workers, with basic knowledge and understanding for recognising and responding to Child Sexual Abuse. It will explore the definition of Child Sexual abuse with view to raising awareness and enabling participants to protect children appropriately. It is so important to keep the child’s needs at the heart of all we do, we believe children will indirectly disclose to us, we have to learn how to interpret the messages they give us. We aim to raise awareness on this course with view to safeguarding children from harm.
The course will enable participants to reflect on previous experiences, look at shared goals and become confident when working in this arena. The style of the course and the course material aims to capture both the present experiences of those in the group as well as provide information and learning experiences to enable further development in this area and so enhance practice. The course materials will be presented in a safe manner with view to enabling participants to feel relaxed and so gain as much as possible from this course.
