about the course
This one-day course is designed for workers who have completed our two-day Handling Teenage Behaviour Parenting Programme training and are already using the material in their practice, either with parents in a group setting or when working with parents on a one-to-one basis. The training day is based on the Handling Teenage Behaviour course by Future Childcare Training Limited, previously known as the ‘NCH Action for Children material’.
The purpose of this day is to offer advice and support to those who are working with the Handling Teenage Behaviour materials providing professionals with a constructive day when they can spend time sharing experiences and working through any difficulties.
The course is practice based and offers a practical down to earth approach which builds confidence in families ranging from low to high level need. This course has been delivered nationally for several years.
course aims and objectives
This course aims to:
- Facilitate further confidence in the understanding of the scope of materials and its application.
- Review and familiarise participants in the use of the materials using the practical ethos of the course as a way to deliver the materials to others.
- Review the methods and ways of working with view to preventing family breakdown and keeping teenagers safe.
- Develop skills and confidence when using the framework for handling behaviour in way that parents/carers can relate to in family life.
- Ensure the professionals using this material have the knowledge to reflect the approach, style and materials in the manner which makes the materials so successful.
- Provide another opportunity to address good practice standards and any barriers that may be getting in the way of the groups’ successes.
- Use the opportunity to work alongside others who are running parent’s groups and share knowledge and skills when putting this material into practice.
how to book this course
This one-day course is charged at £80 per person + VAT. To book this course you will need between 12 and 25 people that need training. This could be your own team of staff or you could contact other childcare professionals, local authorities or agencies in your local area who may also require the training. When you have between 12 and 25 delegates that need training you can contact our administration team to discuss available training dates.

You will be responsible for organising a suitable venue and any catering you wish to provide for the delegates. Also, where necessary you will need to organise and pay for one evenings accommodation for our course trainer the night prior to the course date. We will be responsible for making the necessary travel arrangements for our course trainer and the travel costs will be added to your invoice.
