This course offers knowledge and strategies that are highly transferable into everyday practice, especially for those working with children and young people that have behaviour difficulties.
This course will provide participants with a significant amount of knowledge about emotional development and barriers that can occur in human life that can block natural authentic feelings. Professionals will gain additional skills that will be of use within their existing practice as well as the ability to help others to recognise, understand, handle, and appropriately express emotions. Simply, it means using your emotions to help yourself and others succeed.
This course is suitable for all workers at every professional level and is presented as a workshop. Participants will be actively engaged in the learning process that will be stimulating and fun.
course aims and objectives
This course aims to:
- Provide activities with view to providing participants with a full awareness of emotional literacy and understand its importance within practice.
- Provide an insight of how emotional literacy is a gateway to resolving problems in positive and constructive ways.
- Identify primary feelings and be able to understand the use of the ‘feeling wheel’.
- Help participants to understand the ‘blocks’ that exist in society around communication and feelings.
- Provide practical with the tools and insight into how to nurture emotional literacy in our service user group.
- Enable participants to learn that by developing the ‘whole person’ will encourage benefits for the individual and society by increasing people’s capacity to contribute and achieve in terms of both productivity and personal development.
- Develop awareness about encouraging children to label their feelings, rather than labelling people or situations.
- Facilitate learning around how emotionally developed young people are better equipped to live with difference.
how to book this course
This one-day course is charged at £80 per person + VAT. To book this course you will need between 12 and 25 people that need training. This could be your own team of staff or you could contact other childcare professionals, local authorities or agencies in your local area who may also require the training. When you have between 12 and 25 delegates that need training you can contact our administration team to discuss available training dates.

You will be responsible for organising a suitable venue and any catering you wish to provide for the delegates. Also, where necessary you will need to organise and pay for one evenings accommodation for our course trainer the night prior to the course date. We will be responsible for making the necessary travel arrangements for our course trainer and the travel costs will be added to your invoice.
