direct-work-with-childrenabout the course

This practice based course has been designed for those who work directly with children in a range of settings. The course material will provide a framework for practitioners and managers linking with policies and good practice guidelines. We see children as service users in their own right, and focus on the skills needed to work with them.

One of the most powerful messages that has come out many of the Serious Case Reviews during the past is that workers across all agencies have not demonstrated their abilities to work directly with children.

The course is a one-day course but can be provided as a two-day course in conjunction with the Esteem Builder’s Course.  We address the main issues involved with working with children and provide a range of methods of intervention and assessment.  This course is interesting, fun and focuses on taking practices to the next level.

We encourage respect for children and recognise that children themselves have a lot to teach us.
